THE BELTS

Black Belt Taekwondo students show their progress in the art by the color of the belt they wear. Each color belt is a step toward the goal of Black Belt. Requirements for each belt differ for children and adults. Your instructor will determine the curriculum associated with each belt level. You will see progress checks during regularly scheduled class time. The purpose of this check is to ensure each student is progressing on schedule. These checks become extremely important as each student becomes eligible to test for their next rank.

VIEWING

Parents and family are always encouraged to watch class. However, we only ask that you respect the class by trying your best to remain quiet and keep younger children quiet and under control.  Everyone appreciates your cooperation.

DRESS

Student uniform consists of a white Black Belt Taekwondo uniform (Do Bok) and a belt. During class and any test, students are required to wear their complete uniform. Please keep your uniform clean and properly secure any patches.

BLACK BELT

Earning a Black Belt is truly a rewarding experience. Becoming a black belt does not indicate the end of training, but rather preparing yourself for advanced techniques and commitment to higher degrees of black belt. Traditionally there are ten degrees in Taekwondo. Your instructor will make you aware of curriculum requirements for this advanced level training.

Black Belt Parenting

7 Keys to helping your child get the most out of their Martial Arts training at Black Belt Taekwondo in Cape Coral!

1. CONGRATULATE THEM ON MAKING THE DECISION TO COME TO CLASS TODAY.

2. WHEN THEY LOOK OVER AT YOU DURING CLASS, GIVE THEM A POSITIVE SIGN OF ENCOURAGEMENT.

3. HELP THEM STAY FOCUSED BY LETTING INSTRUCTORS AND ASSISTANTS DO THE WORK WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING CORRECTIONS.

4. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO STEP OUTSIDE IF YOU HAVE A YOUNGER CHILD NEEDING ATTENTION.

5. A HIGH ENERGY CLASSROOM IS IMPORTANT, AND WE LOVE NOISE DURING CLASS. HOWEVER, IT IS BETTER IF THE NOISE COMES SOLELY FROM OUR STUDENTS. THANK YOU FOR TURNING OFF CELLPHONES AND PAGERS WHILE SITTING IN THE CLASSROOM.

6. AFTER EVERY CLASS, TALK WITH YOUR CHILD ABOUT THEIR TRAINING. FOCUS ON “WHAT” THEY DID INSTEAD OF “HOW” THEY DID. THESE TALKS WILL BUILD THEIR CONFIDENCE AND EXCITEMENT ABOUT THEIR NEXT CLASS.

7. AS YOUR CHILD BEGINS CLASS, GIVE YOURSELF A PAT ON THE BACK FOR BEING A CARING, COMMITTED PARENT AND FOR SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD IN ALL THAT THEY DO. THEY MAY NOT THANK YOU FOR YEARS TO COME, BUT REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE MAKING THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE POSSIBLE
